What We Do:

SecurityNexus provides Security Signature Mapping solutions that enable customers to automate essential security disciplines and maximize the usefulness of their existing information security infrastructure. We do this by mapping signature data from diverse information security sources to a standardized reference model and taxonomy, providing a solid foundation to enable more effective reporting and security threat analysis.

We offer our Security Signature Mapping technology in a dataset subscription format suitable for use in any relational database.

The Problems We Address:

Every day companies around the globe are bombarded with attacks against weaknesses in their networks and systems. For years organizations have invested vast resources to minimize the risk of losing sensitive, highly valued corporate information and intellectual property. In their quest, information security departments have armed themselves with a cadre of policies and tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, vulnerability assessment scanners, application-level and operating system controls, among many others.

While security has improved, organizations have also found a lack of synthesis in the outputs of those various technologies. Signature names from one IDS vendor don't match signature names from their competitors. Likewise, vulnerabilities are given different names by different sources.  This makes enterprise-wide analysis of security risk levels dependent on manual review by experienced security staff -- a task far too time consuming. SecurityNexus solves these problems. Our Security Signature Mapping technology provides a layer of knowledge to translate the signature names reported by the various security products to a common reference model, allowing easy integration of security data for reporting and analysis purposes.

How We Do It:

SecurityNexus' solutions are built on our Security Signature Map™, a collection of over 150,000 distinct attack and vulnerability signatures from a wide variety of products and sources. Through both automated and manual processes, our technical team researches new and evolving vulnerabilities, exploits and attack signatures to map those items to the rest of the data set. Because new signatures, exploits and vulnerabilities appear constantly, the SecurityNexus data set is updated continually and delivered electronically and automatically to ensure up-to-date content for our customers without administrative headache.
